U/9’s to the U/13’s Champions Crowned
The MTCHopSol youth soccer league 20021 has finally come to an end, after being interrupted by the end of May due to COVID-19, which led to the discontinuation of the U/15, U/17 and U/19 respectively.
However, the U/9 to U/13 continued to their very special crowning on Friday evening.
Road to the top through age groups.
Under 9 (SKW)
The 1st semi-final on Thursday saw SKW get themselves into the final with a 7-2 score line against DTS, at 16:00 the dominant ACFA a was stunned by the B-team by 4 goals to 1 leaving them to fight for the 3rd place with DTS.
On Friday night DTS defeated ACFA a 6-3 to take the 3rd place overall, SKW was crowned the U/9 MTCHopSol YSL Champions 2021 after scoring 2 past ACFA b with no reply.
Under 11 (DTS a)
SKW a meant all business when they moved past ACFA a 3 goals to 1 to book their spot in the finals. DTS dominated ACFA b with a really dramatic score-line of 7-2, which meant ACFA vs ACFA for the 3rd place playoffs.
In the 3rd place playoffs ACFA B tore their counterparts ACFA A apart by 5 goals to 1 to be crowned U/11 third best in the 2021 league, DTS a became the U/11 MTCHopSol Youth Soccer League Champions 2021 in a very tight game against SKW a that in a 2-3 score line respectively.
Under 12 (ACFA)
Where the actual drama started, from introducing first penalties and the 1st age group with 4 different teams, as well a first goal less draw or just a draw.
SKW yet again proved their dominance over DTS by 2 goals to 1 to book their spot for the finals, 1.FSW proved to be a force to be reckon with, as they forced ACFA to a goalless draw, but sadly fell out on penalties (4-3).
DTS humiliated 1.FSW 3-1 respectively to finish 3rd overall, ACFA was ones more forced into penalties, but in this occasion by SKW, they showed that penalties are their playground, as they won 3-4 to be crowned U/11 MTCHopSol Youth Soccer League Champions 2021.
Under 13 (1.FSW)
At this point one would think penalties are 1.FSW favourite part of the game, a 1.FSW forced yet again an ACFA team to penalties after a 3-all draw, 1.FSW made sure to book their final spot winning 3-2. Ramblers looked shaky throughout their 2-0 defeat mighty red army, they made no change to their poor performance suffering another 2-0 defeat the next day at the hands of ACFA.
The only 1.FSW game that did not have to involve penalties, saw them totally dominate the red boys from Olympia to be crowned U/13 MTCHopSol Youth Soccer League Champions 2021.
It was a great last day of action which ended with an award ceremony and lots of fun.
